How long have you been playing disc golf?

I threw my first disc golf disc with my best friend Rob about 4 and a half years ago at our college, Shawnee State University, just out on the soccer field. I started playing and loving it a lot immediately after that thanks to him.

What are five discs you ALWAYS have in your bag?

Gateway Wizard, Elevation Interceptor, Elevation Binx, Discmania MD3 (new C Line), and Kastaplast Berg.

What is your favorite disc golf course you've ever played?

Definitely my home course! It is the Black Bear Disc Golf Course in Shawnee Ohio State Park.

What is an interesting fact about yourself?

Although I am an accountant, I also have a minor in philosophy. I had planned to relax my final year and take easy fun classes since I had completed most of my degree requirements. However, after taking the required Ethics class I had pushed off I wanted to take all the philosophy classes I could handle. My philosophy professor was actually the officiant at our wedding.

Who is your favorite disc golfer and why?

Calvin Heimburg is probably my favorite disc golfer. He is so fun to watch in tournaments and skins matches and of course is one of the best players ever. He always seems to keep his composure and his mental game is cool as can be.

Where do you see yourself as a disc golfer in 5 years?

In 5 years I see myself still being the Treasurer/Secretary of the Southern Ohio Disc Golf Association and helping them with all administrative and organizational needs. Hopefully SODGA grows by then and we are running more events, have a larger local scene, and more/improved courses. As far as skill wise I hope to continue to steadily improve through constant practice, play more tournaments, have won an event in any division, and am then able to be competitive in the Advanced division. But most importantly I see myself having fun and being the best ambassador of the sport I can be as a disc golfer in 5 years.

Anything else you want the world to know about you?

Just that I am honored and so excited to be on Team Elevation this year! And also that I am so grateful for my amazing wife Bethany McNeilan. She is my best friend and the reason I decided to pursue more disc golf tournaments and play weekly thanks to her encouragement and willingness to always come with me and support me in disc golf and life.
